Mary Slavin was married to Patrick Tierney who was said to be a blacksmith. Their daughter Margaret Tierney came to Australia aboard the ship Atalanta in June 1858 at the age of 17. The family was either in Clare or Kilkenny. There was a family story that Margaret had a brother who was a RC Priest based in Queensland Aust. I have instead found the brother was in Queensland but not a priest. He was in Rockhampton Qld, name Patrick Joseph Tierney and had children Patrick JOSEPH, Edward Thomas, James Joseph, John Joseph, Josephine Catherin,William Patrick all Tierney.
