Looking for ancestors/decendants of James McDonagh and Catherine McCaffery. James & Catherine lived in Drumkeeran, Curraghmore, Co. Fermanagh, just outside of the town of Pettigo. Catherine was born in Donegal, James was born in Fermanagh. They had the following children: MaryAnn b. 1859 Owen b. 1861 Catherine b. 1864 d. 1864? Jane 1865 Catherine b. 1866 Bridget b. abt. 1870 Margaret b. Feb. 1870 James b 1874 The family was Catholic. Jane married Neil Gallagher from the Pettigo area and never left Ireland. James married Mary Ann McCaffery in Erie PA but returned to Ireland about 1915. James Sr. died about 1906, Catherine 1917. My greata grandfather was Owen McDonagh who emigrated to Canada then Detroit MI. His second wife was Annie Maguire, dtr of Edward Maguire and Mary Ann Morris from Fermanagh. I would love to hear from decendants and learn about the family in Ireland. Any information that may verify ancestors of this McDonagh family would also be appreciated. McDonagh is not a common name--perhaps the family of Edward McDonagh is also a relative??? Thank you, Lori | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
