James & Tabitha "White" Pritchard are my 5th Great Grandparents. Looking for cousins, photos, family stories or anything we can share about them. ................................................ PRITCHARD, JAMES, (Ross Co.) Pvt. Maryland Line. Br Frederick Co., Md. Mar Tabitha White. D Chillicothe, 1813. Came to Northwest Territory 1799; Judge of Supreme Court. Ref:D.A.R. Lin. ................................................. THE WESTERN HERALD August 1906 These, Gentlemen are circumstances which require the serious reflection of every free elector in the upper end of the state, and you standing as centi[?n]als to sound the alarm when ever you percieve approaching danger, will no doubt be willing to apprize your fellow citizens of the necessity of making a firm stand in support of a candidate among ourselves, one whose public conduct hath stood unimpeached, one who hath withstood a torrent of opposition, and whose public conduct hath put his opponants to the blush, and one who has never yet stained his hands with speculation nor given countenance thereto, but hath always considered the interest of his country and the happiness of his fellow citizens, as a supersedeas to local interest of every discription. James Pritchard Esquire, is the man I alude to, whose worth has not only drawn the attention of the middle part of the state, streniously to support his election, but has also gained him a number of firm friends even in that part of the state which hath as yet engross'd the greater part of the representation of our state. These are the two characters which are held up to our view, as candidates for our next representation in congress, it therefore behoves each of us to consider the importance of exerciseing our constituional rights so as to do honor to the state, and justice to ourselves, and shew to the United States, and the world, that the state of Ohio will not countenance any base speculation, nor suffer millions of public land to be lavished on Yazoo swindlers. The Western Herald . Steubenville : State of Ohio . Saturday August _ _, 1906 . from Public Library of Steubenville & Jefferson County . Schiappa Library .
