Hello, My name is CJ Jones, I am the great-great-great-great-grandaughter of Alexander McLean and Mary McCallum. These two people were born and lived in Bridge of Weir Scotland and married on 27 Dec 1811 they had 10 children Margaret (b) 1 Mar 1813 James (b) 11 Mar 1815 (d) 31 Dec 1820 Mary I (b) 14 April 1817 (d) 8 Sep 1818 Mary II (b) 11 Feb 1819 (d) 1949 - Married to Charles Hamilton 1838 (also in B.o.W.) my great-great-great-grandparents Gilbert (b) 23 Oct 1820 (d) 9 Nov 1875 Alexander (b) 4 Dec 1822 Mathew (b) 28 Nov 1824 Patrick McNaughton (b) 26 Nov 1827 (d) 18 Jan 1895 Elizabeth (b) 18 Jan 1830 and Janet (b) 5 Feb 1832 If you know anything about this family...anything at all...I would love to have the information. I have been working on this research for a while now and have come to a stand still. I know they were influenced a bit by the morman missionaries when they came to Scotland in the 1820's or so. and Mary and Charles came to the US in 1843. I have copies of letters from Charles to his niece in Scotland dating around 1856, but they give little information about the family there. If you know of anyone I can contact who would have marriage records or birth or death records...anything...were they active in the community? did they leave their mark on your town? or were they just ordinary folk? I hope, once I have a bit more information to come to B.o.W. and see where they walked, and visit buildings they may have visited
