We are trying to trace our ancestors from Germany. Frederick Leonard BROWN b. abt 1846 around or in Berlin Germany. In 1881 he married Helene WHITTE b. abt 1865 in Slchwick-Holstine Germany. We know Frederick fought in the Civil War having landed in NY from Germany. We are told that Helene took the southerly route and landed in TX. They met in Victoria TX where they married and raised their 7 children (Martha 1882, Helene 1883, Louise 1885, Hester 1887, Ludwig Leonard 1891, Margarette 1895, and Lawrence 1898).
