My grandmothers father died when she was five. Her parents eloped and changed their surname from Devoe to Dunn. Her father was named Arthur J. Devoe(Dunn). His b.4/10/1882 believed to be in Stevenspoint,WI He died in New Diggins or somewhere in Lafayette Co. in 1928. Need help finding out who his parents were! Census' indicate father from NY mother from Vermont. Death cert states parents are Wm & Celia Dunn but this could be falsified. He had a brother named Harold(Harry) Found a Wm. J. Devoe in 1880 census in Stevenspoint but can't find any census info around 1890 to prove his parents. Are there any city resident books for the county at this time? Any help is appreciated.
