I was born on 7/30/1959 as Baby girl Gifford to Clare Gifford in Indianapolis, Indiana (later I was named Vicky. My birth certificate was amended in 1964 to put my stepfather's name as father. No formal adoption. I am looking for paternal birthfather (Michael Remas?) born in PA? in or before 1924 or birth siblings. All I know about birth father is that he might have a family in Michigan. Don't know if he was divorced or married at the time. He either traveled back an forth to Indiana. My mother was a waitress. I know that I saw my birthfather as a little girl in the early 60's. My mother got married in 1963 to my stepfather. I just hope someone knows about me in the birthfamily. UPDATE: On 11/1/07 I found my birthfather (Michael REMAS born 1910)listed in the 1960 Indianapolis City Directory. He worked for Chrysler as a controlman. Then I searched SSDI and located him deceased in Dec 1996. Then I found his obit which stated he worked for Chrysler in Indianapolis and Detroit. He died in Pittston, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania. Surviving son is Michael W. Remas in PA and a brother Charles in California. So if anyone has knowledge or relationship with this family - please contact me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
