My Great great grandfather was Pompey J. Scarborough, he was married to Martha Dorris, their son William Tecumsa Scarborough was my great grandfather, I am trying to locate the parents of Martha Dorris, her father was a Thomas Dorris, this is shown on her death certificate she died in Van Meter , Iowa both of them are both buried in DeSoto,Iowa They had several children prior to the birth of William , he was born 18 March 1860. Martha Dorris was born 29 July 1839 in Illinois know they had William Tecumsa, another son Frederick and daughter Ida, I found in the 1860 Census of Illinois the following PJ Scarborough age 30 home in 1860 Walnut Grove, McDonough,Illinois as head of house, wife Martha age 20, and 3 daughters, names hard to make our one 12,one 10 and one 2 yers old, and then baby William. the names sort of look like Mauena j ,Mayant, Letilla, hard to read the writing, but that is best I can do on the writing. Can you help me find this family, do you know who the parents of Martha Dorris are, know Thomas is father, the doctor made error on death certificate and entered her name again as mothers name, unless she and her mother had same name, he put Martha M. Dorris, as her name and her mothers name. Also shows both her parents were born in KY Your help will be greatly appreciated. I will share what info. I have on my great grandfather William T. the son of P J Scarborough and Martha (Dorris) Scarborough. Since I posted this have found parents of Martha M.
