Researching John McKay (1835-abt 1900) b. Newminlns, County Ayr, Scotland. Emigrated 1854 to Illinois with his brother, George, (my gr-grandfather)and brother Archibald. Wife Elizabeth Frances GOODMAN, Children: Franklin, Alice M, Norman, Laura. Lived on farm in WahinGton Co, IL, then in Fountain Prairie, Wisconsin. Moved to Colorado and died there after 1910.
