I was told that my G/G/G grand fathers surname was Schynler, was origionally from Switzerland, he jumped ship in the late 17th century on its way to South Africa. He met up with a Clan called the COETZEE clang. He then changed his surname to Coetzee. He opened the first cheese factory in South Africa (Cape Town). My Grand fathers name is John Daniel Coetzee (Married Doreen Emma Nel)he was born 07/03/1918 died 1978, His fathers name was Gert Lodewyk Coetzee Born 18/04/1880 and his father was Gert Samuel Coetzee born 17/08/1857 he married Catherina Susanna Nourde in 1879.My granmother Doreen Emma Nel's father was born in Eshowe on the 23/09/1891 maried in 12/05/1914 to Emma Henrietta Harrison born 29/08/1894 Her father was William Harrison, mothers name was Martha Louisa Hart.
