2/15/05. I am researching my Barnes family line. This is what I have so far. Mary Barnes(Mary was born 8/12/1806 in England) gave birth (illegitimate)to Amos Barnes, born 7/06/1832 in Tenterden, Kent County, England. Mary married Thomas Steadman Sr. They gave birth to Thomas Jr., Mary, & Alfred. In 1852 they all emigrated to NY by way of Canada. In 1858 Amos moved to Walworth County WI. In 1862 Amos Barnes married Mary Ann Munden and moved to the area around Mazeppa/Zumbro Falls/South Troy MN. Amos & Mary gave birth to George Allen Barnes, Mary Annette Barnes, Charles Edward Barnes, John Amos Barnes(my Grandfather), & Frank Irving Barnes. Amos died in Wabasha County MN on 7/25/1881. From MN, my side of the family moved to Decatur IL then to Bellingham WA where I live, and where my Father Marion Pershing Barnes and my Grandfather John Amos Barnes are buried. I’m looking and willing to communicate with any relatives from this extended family. Please email at: floydgladys@yahoo.com Thank you. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
