I am trying to trace my great great grandfather, GEORGE BRIAR. He records his bithplace as Santo Domingo in 1801. The family legend is that he was rescued there from local fighting by a British sea captain who subsequently adopted him and took him back to England. He became a sailor himself and married EMMA BARKER in Bridgetown, Barbados in 1861. He settled in England and died in 1881, survived by his wife and six children. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
