James Irvine Kirkpatrick (born 1834 Scotland-died 1907 Idaho) and his wife Anna McMaster (1838- ) lived in Isabella County, Michigan from about 1874 until shortly after 1880, when they moved to Clare County, Michigan. Previously they lived in Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario (where their name was spelled Kilpatrick). When they moved to Isabella County, they were accompanied by his parents Ephraim Kirkpatrick (born c1880 in Scotland—died 1880) and Helen (Ellen) Irvine (born 1808 in Scotland). Some of the children of James Irvine Kirkpatrick and his wife Anna McMaster were: Sarah Kirkpatrick (1858-1911) who married Ernest Burton Wood; Ephraim Kirkpatrick (c1860- ) who married Mary McPhail; David Kirkpatrick (1862-1947); James Kirkpatrick (c1867- ); Robert Kirkpatrick (c1870-1880); Frederick Kirkpatrick (1872-1963); and George Kirkpatrick (1875-1937) who married Nora Fishley.
