William Watts and wife Cynthy Black Watts came to Lincoln or Lawrence county around 1820-1830 from Tennessee. William died there apparently before 1840 and the 1840 census show a Jane Watts head of household with all my grandfather's younger brothers living with her. What is this? Who is Jane? Cynthy Jane? Who are William's parents and who are Cynthy Black's parents? One of William's sons, Willis Frederick (My gr-grandfather) moved to Livingston Parish, LA in 1839 and lived with Thomas Taylor for a while. He married Eve Efferson and they had Andrew Nicholas Watts who lived in Livingston all their lives. I'm in search of William and Cynthy's heritage. Anything at all. My search shows William and Cynthy m. in Anson County, NC, and their first son, Jacob Jeffery, b. Anson Co., 1810. Who were William and Cynthy's parents? Some say they were runaway Cherokee/whites. Why Southwest Mississippi -- to get Choctaw ceeded land? Any help or correspondence would be greatly appreciated. I have early factual heritage of early Southwest Mississippi families to share.
