Looking for father of William Bayard Clarkson - born 1806 in Sussex County, DE. Owned land in the Northwest Fork Hundred - this part of Sussex was part of Dorchester County until 1775-76. Had a son named James R. Clarkson. Bayard married Hannah Salmons in December 1842 - James was born in 1848 - only child/only living child - James R. married Phillena Scott of the Fork - any info would be deeply appreciated - Bayard(is what he went by - he dropped his first name) -is my g-g-grandfather - James R. is my g-grandfather and his oldest son William L. is my grandfather and his son Clarence Clarkson is my father - all were born in Sussex County except my father who was born and raised in Kent County. I was raised in Sussex on one of the Passwaters farms - my mother was a Passwaters. I've hit a brick wall - I've been working on this for three (3) years - there were a lot of Clarkson's in the Fork area and the articles written on this area say they were all related - this I am fairly sure of - one of the Clarkson women married one of the Cannons - I have a lot of information on all of the grandmothers back to the mid- 1700's but, I can't find Bayard's father. There was a Robert, a Daniel, a William Freeman, a William H., and Bayard all in the same area. They were all Clarkson's. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
