John Winfield "Scott" Williams b. 2 Jul 1854 and d. 24 Aug 1942; married Margaret Elizabeth Witten 29 Jan 1873 (she was b. 22 Jan 1853 and d. in 1914) I am seeking info on the ancestors and descendants of my ggrandfather John Winfield "Scott" Williams. Information I got from a cousin has it that he was born on 2 Jul 1854 (place unknown but probably KY) and died in White Mills, Hardin, KY on 24 Aug 1942. He married Margaret Elizabeth Witten on 29 Jan 1873 (she was b. 22 Jan 1853; Grayson Co. KY and d. in 1914 in Grayson Co. KY). Their son, Henry Clay, was my maternal grandfather. There is an entry for a J S Williams in the Kentucky Death Records that matches the date of death of I was given for John Winfield "Scott." The only other info I have is that his mother's given name was Lydia Anne. I have quite a bit of info for Margaret Elizabeth Witten’s ancestors but nothing on her descendants.
