I am looking Simmie Ward-Fair Bluff, Mears Funeral Chapel, Edward Cemetery, Cerre Gordo Wife: Lou Essie Ward Son: Simmie Ward Jr., Raeford Daughter: Margaret Holmes (which is my grandmother) maiden name....I'm not sure but from what little I have gathered, Ward. She took the name Williams after going to live with them. I don't think it was actually her legal name but Williams is all I know. She married Rufus A. Holmes. back to the obit..... Sister: Hennon Daisy Bryant of Roanoke Rapids..... Stepsons: Bob Rogers-Fair Bluff and Jerry Pridgen of Tacoma Park MD His date of birth would have been June 28, 1925, and death July 12, 1988, Raeford, Hoke Co..... Buried in Raeford Cemetery. He worked for the City of Raeford Police Dept. Wife: Mary S. Ward "not sure of maiden name." 2 daughters: Patricia "Patsy" Taylor and I have written down in my notes Mary Lee Caulder. My grandmother was born December 23, 1928, so that would make Simmie Jr. 3 years older than Margaret. If she were living, she would be 73 in December. I also have some info about the older Simmie......Born April 17, 1903, Died December 1982 in Fair Bluff, Columbus Co... NC. Around the time my grandmother "Margaret" would have been about the age of 12 or 13, Offie went to visit with Sim and came back with Margaret and ask his wife Wilma to raise her. And she did. I'm pretty sure my grandmothers biological maiden name is Ward but, she always went by Margaret Williams. If anyone has any information that may help I really would appreciate it. NC HH 141 Williams William O M W 39 Farmer General Farming Wilma F W 43 Roland M W 19 Farm Laborer Ezzie F W 16 Dorothy F W 13 William M W 10 Clinton M W 5 Erwin "strange enough" F W 7 I know for a fact Ervin was a Male. Basically, I don't have much info. Sometimes it feels as thought she dropped out of the sky.
