I am searching for my nephew; Michael James Powell, born February 12, 1984 to Robyn Leigh Keeble in Toronto Ontario. He was undoubtedly renamed upon his adoption. He was adopted by a couple who already had an adopted baby boy - approximately 2 years old at the time of Michael's birth. He was brought to the hospital to meet Michael, his new brother, prior to the signing of Michael's adoption papers. At the time of his birth , Michael had a very full head of black hair and a beautiful little rose bud mouth. I came to the hospital to see him, against my parents wishes, to see him before he left our family for his new one. His mother Robyn, was very young and had no place to live at the time of his birth. She was abused throughout her childhood and became a runaway prior to his birth. She wanted desperately to keep him but without any financial or family support, decided to give him up for adoption, so that he could have a better life than she could provide. She is tormented that she has made the right decision and that the family she chose for him provided him with everything she wished for him. We have thought of him every day since his adoption, especially on his birthday...He is loved and missed and we would desperately like to find him, if he would like to find us. His adoption was arranged through the Toronto Children's Aid Society...the social worker involved with Robyn and Michael's case was called Marnie Walker and worked in the Scarborough office at the time of Michael's adoption. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
