Searching for information on Hawaiian name NAHAOLELUA, pre-1870s. Paul Nahaolelua was a former governor of Maui, and served on Kamehameha's cabinet. His son was Edward "Kia" Nahaolelua. Kia's son GEORGE KIA NAHAOLELUA, Maui HI, was my great grandfather. He married Madeline DAVIES of Brooklyn, NY. Her surname may have been "SMITH", but I can find no record of this. They were musicians and actors who traveled throughout the US around the turn of the century. They were in Seattle, WA, and San Francisco, CA around 1905-1910. They eventually settled in California and had two children, George Kia, Jr. (b. 1914, d. 1950) and Henrietta (b. 1916, d. ca. 1970.) I would like to know more about them, especially Madeline, who also went by the name of Pat. I am trying to locate a death record for both George (d. 1929) and Madeline, who was living in West New York, New Jersey in 1930 with her mother and son. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
