Hi, I have travelled the web, looking for Arney groups or Arney Genealogy forums to see if any new information has been posted. Yes, I know that since I'm searching for my particular line of Arneys that the information is very limited, especially the further back in time we go. My branch of the Arneys that leads through Peter Arney in Tennessee, Jacob Arney in North Carolina, and Frederick Ernigh in Pennsylvania is not that limited that no one else is researching the same material. I realize that because the research is so old, it has become stale. I look for definitive tangible proof. Anything that can confirm each of our ancestors existence. I know that Jacob and Frederick are the two most difficult because it is travelling so far back in time. Face it, they didn't really consider that 300 years in the future some distant relative would be researching their lives. Therefore, they didn't prepare to make sure their tombstones would always be easily found, that their wills would be easily read, that details of their lives would be researched and found. Think about it, are you marking your life so that 300 years from now, in 2305, some distant ancestor will be able to find definitive tangible proof of your existence? Anyways, I'm trying to do what seems to be impossible, finding definitive tangible proof of our Arney ancestor's existence. 1. tombstones 2. homes 3. wills 4. land deeds 5. tax records 6. military service 7. marriages 8. birth records 9. letters written by 10. pictures or painted portraits, etc. Thank you for your time, consideration, and cooperation, you all do a great job of information sharing, take care and God bless. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
