Jerry SHELDON b. County Cork Ireland married Ellen HOGAN. One of their children was Richard SHELDON b. 1825 in County Cork, Ireland. He was supposedly to join the priesthood somewhere in Scotland, but instead, he ran off to the USA. He met Jane Ann BRADLEY (b. 1852 in Canada, parents were William & Ann BRADLEY) in Watertown, NY. She was 13 years old. They were married and moved to Alabaster, MI. Purchased land from the US government in Alabaster in 1875. Richard d. 11/1/1908 Jane d. 1919. They had 16 children (one I don't know): William b. 1866(I was told William was a bank robber in Chicago), John L. b. 1869, Richard b. 1870, James b. 1872 (d. age 2yrs 1874 house fire), Jane b. 1874 (d. age 6mos. 1874 house fire), James Henry b. 1875 (m. Elizabeth Brennan Oct. 2, 1902), Mary Ann b. 1878, Robert b. 3/1880, Elmer, Edward, David, Albert Louis b. 9/20/1886 (d. 12/8/1964 age 78yrs), Thomas Wesley b. 1889 (d. 1918 age 29yrs,) Alta Elmer m. Lena (?), James had a daughter named Eloise. Richard, Jane and a few of their children are buried at the Alabaster Cemetery, Alabaster, MI. Albert Louis SHELDON (my grandfather)b. 9/20/1886 m. Catherine Bryza in Iosco County, MI 9/20/1909. Purchased land in East Tawas, MI 6/2/1919. They had 8 children: Fern Veronica b. 7/31/1913 (d. 11/17/1987 age 74yrs 3mos), Robert Louis b. 7/27/1915 (d. 4/14/1957 age 41yrs 9mos), Charles Douglas b. 8/12/1918, Neil Francis b. 7/16/1919, John Clayton b. 12/18/1920 (d. 7/85 age 64yrs 7mos), Allie (my dad) b. 7/25/1922 (d. 6/14/89 age 66yrs 11mos), Carl Benny b. 12/19/1924 (d. 10/20/97 age 72yrs 10 mos), Murle Mary b. 12/7/1925 (d. 6/13/1988 age 64yrs 6mos) Catherine d. of pulmonary tuberculosis in Traverse City State Hosp. on 3/23/1937.
