My grandfather, Presley Tobert Tharp, was born May 6, 1870 in Shelby County, Indiana. Delbert Tharp did not die in infancy as did the other two. My grandfather's parents' names were Charles Collins Tharp, born Sept.2, 1844 and Eliza Camilla(Camiller) Peek, Born JUly 20, 1844 and died April, 1928. Great grandfather [Charles Collins]died Feb. 1876. They were married Mar. 5, 1868.My grandparents had 6 children: Eupha May born July 18, 1892; Presley Tobert Jr. born Sept. 1 1893; James Barnes born Jan. 12, 1896;Merwyn Putnam born May 8,1902; Eliza Pauline born Oct. 19,1907; and Charles Ernest born April 18, 1913[my father].My grandparents left Illinois and moved to Cartwright, Manitoba in 1903. From there they moved to Galahad, Alberta and then to Manning, Alberta, where they lived the rest of their lives. I have talked to Ray Tharp who lives at Lucky Lake, Sask. He is in his mid 70's. However, he said his relatives came from Kentucky. In addition to all this, after my greatgrandfather died at the age of 32, my greatgrandmother remarried to a man named R.C.Evans, Feb. 4th, 1879.Greatgrandma wrote in her bible[the one I am reading from now]"April 14th, 1893--Peach trees in full bloom and loaded with snow"...E.C.
