I am looking for Carrie A. Mills who married Robert M. Travis. I am looking for Robert M. Travis born 1859/1860. He was the son of Joseph W. Travis born 1831 in Indiana county Pa. Robert M. married Carrie A. Mills. Below is what I know of him and his wife. May 22, 1884 issue of the Seneca Tribune. "Married -- at the residence of the bride's parents near America City, by Rev. D.N. Rose, Miss Carrie A. Mills and Robert M. Travis. Among the invited guests were J.O. Harmon, Miss Clara Allen, and Miss Bertha Fithean of Soldier City, and A. S. Mills, a brother of the bride, of Seneca. Miss Mills was one of the best teachers in the county, closing her term of school in the Moore district four miles south of Seneca, only two weeks ago. The happy couple will reside in Seneca." Seneca is the county seat of Nemaha County.America City Nemaha County, just north of the county line where Pottawatomie and Jackson counties meet. Soldier is southeast of America City in Jackson County and they are all in the general area of Goff. Source: Fenton's "Death Notices..." books Soldier Squibs. Sep 30, 1889. We are informed today of the death of Mrs. Robert M. TRAVIS, of typhoid fever. "The Holton Weekly Signal", 2 Oct 1889. News was received here the first of the week that Mrs. Robert M. TRAVIS had died before her father reached her. Instead of being in Washington Territory as stated last week, the family had returned from the west,and were living on the farm which Mr. TAVIS traded his property north of town some time ago...
