Query Text: |
I am searching for information regarding my Irish ancestry. My great great grandfather was called Michael Maloney (Moloney). He was born in 1839 in Youghal, County Cork. He emigrated to South Wales in the UK in 1847, I do not know if he came alone or with family. He moved to Cardiff and in 1860 married my great great grandmother Mary Griffiths from Whitchurch, though the rest of her family were from Llantwit Fardre. They settled in Aberkenfig, near my home town of Bridgend and had eight children. Michael's father was called John who was a tailor, Michael was also a tailor and a beer retailer, and he ran a pub in Aberkenfig called The Bush Inn, and the building itself was called the Hollybush. Hope to hear from anyone who can help me discover my Irish roots! JAYNE HILLMAN (nee Maloney) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
