I am seeking information regarding the lineage of my grandfather, William N. Phipps. He was born in 1880, and lived in Iowa, Arkansas and Nebraska. He was married to Clara M. by 1910 and was living in Cherry County, Nebraska, with her two children, Florence I. and Lawrence R. By 1920 they had moved to Washington County, Arkansas. By 1930, he had married Josephine Hopkins and had by her two sons, Donald William (my father) and James LeRoy. Also living with them were Josie's children from a previous marriage to Walter M. Palmer, John (Jack) Palmer and Dorothy Palmer. Willian N. Phipps died in Washington County, Arkansas on August 1, 1939 at the age of 59. I am seeking all information regarding his lineage, especially along the Phipps line. The family resided in Iowa, Arkansas and Nebraska in the 1800s and early 1900s. According to family lore, Willian N. Phipps' father is reputed to have been riding with the James Gang at one time. Donald W. Phipps, Jr. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
