Query Text: |
I am looking for several clues: My great grandfather's name was George Snapp Hicks, born in Sullivan County, Tennessee around 1847 and I know about his family back to England and Sir Ellis Hicks. My great grandmother was Annis Frances Carroll born in Tennessee around the same time. I think her parents were George and Sarah Carroll, and George was from Virginia, I think. I am at a dead end with Sarah. Can any one help me there? My grandmother Elizabeth Asbury married my grandfather Thomas Edward Hicks. Thomas Edward Hicks was born May 14, 1872 or 73, Sullivan county, Tennessee to George and Annie Hicks He had several sisters: Ida Bell, Ladeenie, Susan (Theo), Lucy, Laura, Katherine (Katie), and Luan. Luan was born in Arkansas, Bates,Scott county. There are several strange stories about my grandfather after Tennessee to Missouri. He married my grandmother 1910. But my grandfather is a real mystery to me. Can anyone help there? My grandma was raised in an orphanage. Her parents were Amos Asbury and Clara Clevenger from Missouri, and I think they are from Fishing River, Ray or Clay county, Missouri. Does anyone know about this?
