My name is Connie Sterner. I have been researching the Springs with my cousin Dawna Clark. Her husband, Harry Clark is a Spring descendent. We are seeking information for a Marshall Spring. We believe his family was from Grafton, Vt, a grandson or nephew of Samuel Spring, a first settler of Grafton, Vt. Marshall was born in 1827/28 we think in upstate NY or Grafton, Vt. We found him in Rossie, NY in the 1850 Census living with the family of Reuben Nott, from Vermont born in 1798 & his wife Olive Bailey, from Windsor, Vt born 1805. Reuben and his brother Moses were two of the first settlers in Antwerp, NY having moved there from Vt in approx 1803. However, we can't figure out who Marshall's father & mother were! We know he married a woman named Mary Jane Holt in 1854, they had a son George, and then Marshall was killed in a logging accident...all happening in 1854. We found another Marshall in Grafton, Vt born in 1800 but he is too old to be our Marshall. If you have any information, please let us know!
