HINDS (RENFROE), Lucretia, born 31 Jul 1853, Glen Alice, Roane Co., TN. She was born a RENFRO/RENFROE, and adopted by Joseph HINDS. In the 1850 census of Roane Co, she is listed as one of his children, age 6. Lucretia's first name is sometimes listed as "Louisa" or "Loucrissa". She died 16 Jan 1943 in Van Buren Co., TN, and is buried in the First United Methodist Cemetery in Cummingsville. Lucretia (Renfroe) HINDS married James Thomas JORDAN 12 Sep 1872. They had 7 children: Parthenia Adeline, James Henry, William Perry ("Will"), Jefferson Franklin ("Buck"), Ida Grace, Joseph and Lonnie. We are trying to find out who Lucretia's birth parents were and why they gave her up for adoption.
