My great grandfather James Joseph (b 09-07-1867) came to the US (NY) from Dublin? around 1885. His father was Patrick Behan. All I know is that Patrick was married to wife #1 and had 3 boys. He re-married Mary A. ("Ann") Holbrook? (also widowed) and had my great grandfather and his sister Mary J (who was 14 years younger). Patrick died and his oldest son from marriage #1 inherited everything, leaving his 2nd family destitute. Apparantely that is why they came to the US. James Joseph married Isabella Sirfronia Reynolds and they had 6 children while living in Otisville, NY. James Joseph was the pioneer of smallpox and the diphtheria vaccine but his colleague William Park took all the credit for it! I would like ANY help in linking my genealogy to my irish ancestors. Thanks!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
