I am looking for information about my grandfather, William McCafferty who was born in 1896 in Donegal (?) Ireland. I have no information on possible brothers or sisters. He married Annie Monaghan and had a son Patrick in 1925. They immigrated to Canada in 1926 aboard the Canadian Pacific ship the Metagama destined for Quebec Canada. They moved on to Alberta to homestead. If you have any information about his family in Ireland I would appreciate some assistance, as I am new to Genealogy, and am finding the databases hard to navigate and with little information to go on I have no place to start the search other than message boards.
