I am searching for information on my Powers ancestors. Alanson Powers was born July 26, 1802 in New York and married Elizabeth Grey who was born August 1808 in New York or Maryland. They had at least the following children: Fannie, Clark, Lavina, Harriet, Isaac, and Rachael born in New York, and Adel born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Luman Powers, brother to Alanson, was born May, 1804 in New York and married to Jane Unknown who was born March 25, 1825 in New York. They had at least the following children: Hannah, Caroline, and George born in New York, and Henry, Harriet, Esther, Charles, Viola, Unreadable, Vernelia, and Frances born in Michigan. Detective George Powers was the first officer killed in the line of duty in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Any information would be helpful to reconstruct this family history. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
