Trying to get information on great grandfather, John Wellington Deignan, who lived in Stuart, Iowa in the late 1870's until he passed away in 1882. He worked as a conductor on the railroad. Was in the union army stationed in Plattsburgh Barracks. Was discharged in 1871 because of consumption. Married Julia Osborn from McLean County Ill. Had four or five children. Francis Leon, Osborn Warren, Katherine and Maud. Had a relative Edward, whether he was a brother, I don't know. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
