Am looking for information on members of the DeRoche family that migrated from Tignish, Prince Edward Island to Lawrence, Massachusetts (MA) or Yarmouth, Maine (ME.) My greatgrandfather Joseph DeRoche (Oct 1885 - Jan 1983)came from Tignish to New England. On March 2 1908 he married Mary J. Chaisson in Lawrence, MA. (Mary’s family was also from Tignish but had settled in Lawrence. She was the daughter of Joseph Chaisson (also given as Jean-Bpt) and Judie Doucette.) Joseph DeRoche was the son of Isaac DeRoche and Margaret (maiden name given as both Meunier and Miller.) According to family lore Isaac died young, before his son moved to the States. Joseph’s marriage was witnessed by Gilbert DeRoche and Mallida DeRoche. I’m wondering if these were siblings or cousins. After their marriage Joseph and Mary moved to Yarmouth, ME where there were many other DeRoches also originally from Tignish living. Am eager to find out more on any of these family branches. I would be grateful for any help! Thanks! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
