Query Text: |
Robert BRYSON, born abt. 1778, was an "eminent" clockmaker in Edinburgh, from 1810 until his death in 1852. His son, ?James BRYSON, b. about 1800, followed him in the busines and was joined by his sons, Alexander and ?Adam in the business in 1843 and 1844, respectively, to create the company, "James BRYSON & Sons" My great great grandmother was Catherine/Helen BRYSON (born 1815 Bathgate) who married John SPIERS in 1838,and her daughter was Isabella Bryson SPIERS (1843-1912) who married my great grandpa, Robert WADDELL. Family lore has it that the BRYSONs were big clockmakers in Scotland early to mid-1900s, and were our relatives, but I cannot make the connection between Helen/Catherine BRYSON and a BRYSON father... is it Robert? Thanks for help. Janet | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
