I am searching for information regarding Thomas South, born in 1872 and worked as a police officer in Rock Island (or thereabouts). He is last mentioned in the 1910 census. Family lore says he committed suicide - somewhere around 1912-14 or so. I cannot find any record of his death, any newspaper mention for an obituary or story regarding a suicide of a city police officer. Any help or connections would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!
