I am searching for my birth family. My birth mother knew my adoptive parents' neighbor, Mrs. Irene Matranga. She might have worked with Mrs. Matranga at the Chevy Plant in North Tarrytown. Mrs. Matranga helped to arrange the adoption. My birth mother was 29 when I was born, had blonde hair and blue eyes and was small in stature; she was Protestant. My birth father was 33, of Italian heritage, Catholic and a construction worker. My birth mother surrendered two daughters before having me; they would have been 4 1/2 and 1 1/2 at the time of my birth. She had another child sometime after I was born and that child was also surrendered. My adoptive parents, Frank and Dorothy Conti, paid some of my birth mother's expenses during her pregnancy. I was a full term baby at birth, weighing 5 lbs., 6.5 oz. I was born at Tarrytown Hospital and may have been delivered by Dr. Mendelowitz. My adoption was finalized in December of 1953.
