SKELLY - Francis DeSales Skelly (Frank D. Skelly) born Jan. 29, 1888 in Chicago, IL. Parents are Patrick J. SKELLY and Annie Agnes MCQUAIDE. Frank lived in the Pullman District with his parents and younger sister Mae Skelly. Frank is my great-grandfather. His daugher, Sadie Mae Skelly was born Sept. 6, 1907. He was married to Sarah Amelia Gourley. Frank died Jan. 30, 1943 and was buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chicago. Frank was Irish Catholic and attended Holy Rosary on 113th St in Chicago. Frank was a Teamster in the brickyards. My grandmother (Sadie Mae Skelly) never knew her father. Her parents divorced shortly after her birth due to her mother being Protestant and her father being Catholic. Family legend is that Frank joined a monastery following the divorce.
