Looking for parents of J. Charles "Charlie" Buchanan, born 19 Nov 1826 in AL, died 11 Mar 1890 in Collin Co., TX, buried Snow Hill Cemetery, Collin Co., TX. On 7 Dec 1846 in Shelby Co., AL, he married Nancy C. HARRISON (born 16 Mar 1831 in AL, died 20 Dec 1892 in Collin Co., TX). She was daughter of Nathaniel Harrison and Margaret "Peggy" Crowson. This couple and their children lived near Tuscaloosa, AL after their marriage, then moved to Noxubee Co., MS before 1860, thence to Clarke Co., MS by 1862 at which time and place Charlie joined the Confederate Army. In 1870 they were still in Clarke Co., MS, but by 1880 had moved across the county line to Jasper Co., MS. Before April 1885 this couple, two of their daughters and their families, and their two younger unmarried sons moved to TX where they were enumerated in the 1900 census for Collin County. One census says that Charlie's father was born in SC and his mother in NC. Would appreciate any help in identifying Charlie's parents. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
