I am researching a Mary Anna Lakeen who was born in Ahan, Limerick in either 1823 or 1824. All I know of Mary's early life is that she emigrated to Australia and that she married a George Farrell. Can anyone out there enlighten me concerning any of the following: a) the surname Lakeen (I can find no reference to it anywhere) and its possible variations; b) Mary Lakeen's life in Ireland prior to emigration; and c) Ahan, Limerick.
