My grandfather was John Donoghue. He was born in 1898 in Tuam, Co. Galway Ireland, but at some point his family moved to Athlone in Co. Roscommon/Westmeath. My grandfather's parents were Patrick Donoghue (O'Donoghue) and Bridget Darcy. John Donoghue came to the USA in 1923. His mother and siblings followed him in 1925. They all settled in New York City. My grandfather had a cousin, who I believe was his first cousin, Patrick Darcy who also had come over to America. He was a tall man and we have some photos of him back in the early 1930's. My mother's cousin remembers that he died of cancer/tuberculosis or something similar to that, most likely sometime in the 1930's or 1940's. She also seems to remember him as having been married and had children. My grandfather also had an aunt Rose Rohan (may be spelled Rowen) who lived in NYC in the Borough of Queens. As far as I understand she was Bridget Darcy's sister, which would make her Rose Darcy Rohan (Rowen).Rose Rohan had a daughter Korbel Rohan (also may not be exact spelling), we have lost all contact with this branch of the family tree and we would like to be able to trace this branch of the family tree as well. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks alot!!
