My grandfather was John Donoghue. He was born in 1898 in Tuam, Co. Galways Ireland. But the family moved at some point to Athlone in Co. Roscommon/Westmeath. My grandfather's parents were Patrick Donoghue/O'Donoghue and Bridget Darcy. I know my great-grandfather, Patrick Donoghue/O'Donoghue had a brother...I think his name was Thomas O'Donoghue but I am not sure, it may have been James. I do know there is a cousin living in Athlone who is James O'Donoghue and is a barber, married to a woman named Dody, but I am not sure how to find him to contact him. Also my grandfather had old letters he had received from his cousin named Lily. I do not know if her name was Lily Donoghue or something else.
