I am a descendent of John Thomas(maybe Henry) Newell. He was my Grandad & was born on 14 Jan 1904 in Islington SE. His father was George Newell(an ostler)& mother Elizabeth Lydia(formerly Naylor). They lived at 176 Quinn Buildings in Islington SE & when George died in 1909 my Grandad was sent to a home in Hornsey Rise, also a home in Silver St, Edmonton & then a school run by the Islington Guardians. This was all before he was 10 years old. He also had a brother called George Edward who was born 23 May 1901 & he was also sent to the homes. There were also two other children called James & Rose but they died young. | |||||||||||||||||||||
