Query Text:

My maiden name is McLawhorn. The name is derived from McGlohon which first appeared in coastal NC in the late 1700's. This name does not appear anywhere, that I can find, before that date. It is most likely a name written by an immigration scribe.It is possibly from McGlone as it would sound this way in Gaelic. Does anyone have any information that might help me find out from whence this name came? Thanks beforehand for any clues. Bettie Thomas
