Searching for birth mother of white baby girl born on Aug. 3, 1954 at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Baby was delivered by Dr. Velkoff. Birth mom was about 20 years old, married, had four children. She was 15 when she got married. Her husband was away (either in Army or in jail). While husband was gone, she had an affair w/ a young serviceman from Pennsylvania. They were together for over a year. He left when she got pregnant. Birth mom was set up with adoptive parents through a friend; it was a private adoption. After the birth, it took two years to finalize the adoption because the birth mom kept moving and changing her name. Her name on the hospital bill is Janie C. Marshell or Marshall ("Marshell" is stamped on the bill, "Marshall" was written on it by a nurse). Birth mom was of Irish descent. She was from a small town in Georgia. She was the oldest of three. No physical description was given. Birth dad was from Pennsylvania, was described as young, about 5'11", 170 lbs., strawberry blond hair, and blue eyes. He was supposedly stationed near Atlanta. Birth mom's address at time of birth was given as 1427 Elizabeth Ave. SW in Atlanta. In the 1954 directories, that address is listed as belonging to Margaree (correct spelling) Beck.
