Looking for parents and wife of Henry Parker. Henry b abt 1797 in England. The first I find him is on the 1850 census in Montrose, Lee Co. Iowa. His daughter Sophia is with him and he is widowed. Sophia was b abt 1830 in England also. Henry lived to at least 1880. He lived next door and then with Frederick Parks and family. Is Parks maybe shortened from Parker? What is the relationship of these two. Sophia dies in child birth in the 1860's. I find no other family members in the area. I would suspect that Sophia wasn't the only child but I have no proof. Any help appreciated Marilyn An update; Henry Parker was on the 1841 census in Louth, Lincolnshire. His wife was Mary daughters Hellen age 16 amd Sophia age 10. Would anyone know of this family.
