I am researching my g-g-grandfather Nathan Lester Stevens/Stephens/Stevans, 1826, OH -1915, IN, who lists on the 1880 census that his father as born in PA. Nathan Lester Stevens married in Montgomery Co., IN, in 1850 Mary Alice Woods, 1831,Highland County,OH-1913, IN, and produced eight children: Lillian, 1867 (who married David Decker); Joseph M., 1851; Francis, 1859; twins Floyd & Lloyd, 1861; Delphene, 1855; Enoch 1866, John William, 1858. The family can be found in the Fountain County, IN 1850, the Page County, IA, census/tax records for 1851, '54, '60. with Mary's parents Joseph and Sarah Fisher Woods. Joseph Woods was b. 1805,VA, and her mother was Sarah Fisher was b. 1804,Highland County, OH. Mary's sister Jane lived in Clarinda City, IA, and her brother Enoc, b. 1829, moved from IA to KS with wife Nancy Washburn. Other relatives on the 1860 census for Page County, IA, having Highland County, OH, connections are James Fisher, John Griffith, the Hushaws, and possibly the Kennedys. Thank you for responding.
