Portland, Maine - England information exchange? I am wondering if there is anyone who might help me obtain a copy of a 1946 Portland Press Herald newspaper article about my grandmother. She was a war bride who I believe arrived in Portland on March 30, 1946. She remembers a reporter taking her picture to include in a newspaper article that I assume was published the next day or soon after. Would anyone be able to visit their local library and check it out for me? In return, I would be happy to help you research something in England, where I currently live. I have access to the London Times archive, or I could make a trip to a public records office, cemetery, or other location near Canterbury, Kent for you.
