Cowan, Joseph C. III just getting into fam. hist. Only known roots are in oklahoma and arkansas. I believe that my great grandfathers name was W.G. Cowan Died early 1920,s My father was born on october 13,1944. Joseph Clement Cowan Jr.Grandfather Joseph Sr. Died in either 1974 or 1976 in okc,ok. From what i've found most roots lead to either Ireland, or Scottland with the surname Cowan. If I have any family out there that knows that we are from the same line I would like to know.
