I NEED HELP !! Oswego Independent newspaper had an obituary (12 Aug '92, p3) about Mrs Alice Flora who died 6th Aug 1892, with another small article which said Maud Wallick was her cousin and Mrs L E Carries (Carrier) was her aunt, both of Chicago. The Labette County Democrat had an article (25 Aug '92, p 3, c 1) about my maternal grandparents, Maude Wallack (Wallick) and W W Flora, wedding at Carthage, MO, 21 Aug 1892. The Flora brothers, with sister who married Carl R Gray, vice chairman, Union Pacific RR, were children of John Andrew FLORA (1845IN-1934KS) living in Labette county, 1878-1934, whose step son-in-law was Judge Elmer C Clark. Maude was orphaned in 1877 at Peru, IN, was in Banks' household, 1880 (not found till this article, 12 Aug '92), with 7 y/o sister, Pearle, in Muddy Bayou, AR as "servant" in 1880 census. The 1892 news articles say, Alice met Clarence Flora a couple years earlier when she visited relatives in Oswego. Another article said Maude was a familiar person in Oswego, who had gone to Chicago about a year earlier (maybe to work at Columbian Exposition?) In later life Maude adopted a middle name 'Gault', origin of which is missing. Then --- Mrs L E Carrier, the aunt of Alice Kingsbury, also as Maud, from Chicago, is signed as guest at the 21 Aug 1892 wedding, also signed are; Miss Lucy Fisher (possibly d/o I R Fisher?), Miss Cloe McClani and Mr & Mrs S(G?) B Franklin among others known to us. Can you shed light on who the relative in Oswego was, or connect "the dots" for us on any of the above???
