Theodore Cunz emigrated about 1860 and served in the Civil War. In the 1890 Veterans Schedule, he was enumerated in Eastern Division National Home for Disable Veteran Soldiers in Togus Twp., Kennebec Co., Maine. He married Christina Kolb, of Coblenz, Germany, bef. 1868, the year their daughter, Clara, was born in NY. They had a son, Ottmar (named for Theodore's brother), b. 1869 in NY, but dead by 1880, and another daughter, Christina, b. 1872 in NY. Theodore filed an application for disability pension in 1891, and Christina filed for widow's pension in 1901. I don't know yet where he died, although Maine is a good guess as she filed for her pension in both NY and ME. I also don't know where he was buried. His parents were Theodore Cunz, a Lutheran minister in Niederkleen, and Marie Kalisch. They remained in Germany. Theodore emigrated with brothers Albert and Justus W. Ferdinand. Ottmar is believed to have come along later. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
